Love It,Strive For It

Assalammualaikum wbt.
2017 is a good year to start something, right? I know I’m quite late but it’s never too late to start something new. Actually I never though I’ll start blogging and make join this competition. It’s not even my 2017’s goal to start blogging or something like this but here we are!
Time flies so fast, right? It feels like it was just yesterday I published my first article. After 4 months struggling writing and publishing articles, finally it has come to its end. It’s time to say goodbye. I have done my best and I hope I’ll improve myself in the future. Thanks for supporting me, without all of you this blog is nothing. It doesn’t matter if we win or lose… Pardon, I mean learn. We don’t lose, never lose. Either we win or we learn. Not winning this competition doesn’t mean I’m going to give up. It’s just an end for a chapter not for the whole book. By the way, wish me and my 2002 batch luck for our PT3 this year okay?
3 Awesome 2017
we shouldn't pride ourselves for such a small accomplishment in the past,we are so hung up to it until we forget how to move forward.
Feel free to drop your questions in the comment section below. I'll try my best to answer it inshaallah. Thanks for visiting this blog. Don't forget to share it okay? This is my last article since we can't make any changes to our blog after the dateline.

Think Globally,Act Locally

Assalammualaikum wbt.

What Is Sustainable Living?

Sustainable living is a lifestyle that attempts to reduce an individual’s or society’s use of the Earth’s natural resources and personal resources. Practitioners of sustainable living often attempt to reduce their carbon footprint by altering methods of transportation, energy consumption and diet.

Benefits Of Sustainable Living

1. Improve Our Health:

Living sustainable is a fantastic way to increase fitness and improve our life balance. This is because we will depend less on vehicle or machinery and the consumption of quality food products that is either locally or organically produced. Biking, walking or doing tasks manually can help us to maintain and increase our fitness. This could also enhance our happiness and fight depression

2. Better Earth For Future Generation:

The most important reason to live a sustainable lifestyle is to safeguard the environment. Reducing environmental footprint or simply utilizing the Sun’s energy will ensure our Earth’s stability and existence for future generation.

3. Cost Savings:

Why find the hard ways to save your pocket when you can easily cut your cost by living a sustainable lifestyle? For example, sustainable homes promise reduced costs of water consumption, heating and lighting through implementation of water saving techniques, use of green energy and smart lighting solutions respectively.

How To Live A Sustainable Lifestyle?

1. Say No To Plastic:

They are a growing menace in our environment and they take billions of years to decompose. Also, they contain hazardous chemicals and are the main cause of thousands marine mammals, seabirds and seals death.

2. Cook Your Own Food:

By cooking your own food, you’ll be eating healthy and saving costs at the same time. Eating locally is also a more impressive way to live a sustainable life. Instead of going to supermarket to shop some not-so-fresh vegetables, fruits or other products, you should plant them by yourself at your backyard.

3. Drive Green Or Walk More:

Carpooling, use of public transport, biking and walking are some of the most efficient and sustainable practices. You could live a sustainable life and improve your health at the same time. If you intend to move within a short distance try using a bike or take a walk instead of driving your car. If you are going for a long distance, carpooling or public transport will be a good idea. Driving as one person in car is completely not sustainable and is highly discouraged.
Sustainable Lifestyle. It's in our hand

CFL Bulbs VS LED Bulbs

Assalammualaikum wbt.

Image result for cfl bulbs
A compact fluorescent lamp (CFL) is a fluorescent lamp designed to replace an incandescent light bulb. Some types fit into light fixtures designed for an incandescent bulbs. The lamps use a tube which is curved or folded to fit into space of an incandescent bulb and a compact electronic ballast in the base of the lamp.

Image result for cost less
They may cost more at first but they are actually less expensive in the long run because they last longer than incandescent bulbs. They can help you to cut down a substantial amount of your bills because they consume 60% less energy compare to incandescent bulbs.

Image result for efficient
They are 400% more efficient than incandescent bulbs. This means you can replace your non-efficient 100-watt incandescent bulbs with 22-watt CFL to produce exactly same amount of light with less energy used

Produce Less Heat:

More of the energy drawn by a CFL is converted into visible light while less of it is converted into wasteful heat. It is proved that this can lower air-conditioning costs in establishment and homes that changing from incandescent bulb with CFL units

They contain mercury:

This is the most concerning drawback of CFL users especially among environmentally conscious users. It works best and safely when it is being used. The problem comes when the bulbs are broken or not disposed correctly

Affected By Weather:
Cold weather may affect its brightness. The bulb gives off dim light in situation that are cold including in garages.

Trouble With Dimmer Switches:

CFL usually can’t be used with a dimmer switch, a device that dims and softens light due to CFL bulbs’ initial warm up time.

A light-emitting diode is a semiconductor device that produces light from electricity. They last longer and doesn’t break easily. They can produce many different colors. They are efficient since most of the energy makes light, not heat.

More Efficient:

LED bulbs use less energy compared to incandescent and fluorescent lamps. By reducing energy consumption, we can avoid or at least delay costly upgrades to city power distribution circuits. These could also reduce dependence on foreign oil and overly rapid depletion of domestic natural resources.

Produce Less Heat:
Since more energy drawn is converted into visible light, less is transmuted into wasteful heat. This can lower air-conditioning costs in establishments and homes that using LED bulbs instead of CFL bulbs.

More Environmental Friendly:

LED bulbs contain no hazardous gasses and are difficult to break accidentally. LED bulb should be recycled but since appropriate recycling stations have not yet been set up in many areas, the consumer must store them until such facilities become available

Heavy Compared To Other Bulbs Or Lamps:
Most LED bulbs contain an integrated metal heat sink. It makes them heavier than similarly sized filament and CFL lamps. Since it is heavier, the weights are added to the overall expense of the bulb and cause the shipping costs increase

Can’t be Thrown Into The Trash:
Image result for no trash
Burned-out LED bulbs are considered hazardous waste due to its printed circuit boards and other contain. However, since LED bulbs are moving into the main stream markets. Government are in planning to set up recycling stations and services for proper disposal

It Costs More:

LED bulbs are more expensive than traditional light sources but despite its longer lifespan. Investing more in LED bulbs might be a good idea and at the same time it also consumes less energy than the old type of lighting but during the operation of one LED light source of good quality, we would be forced to purchase minimum 5-10 old type bulbs which would not necessarily result in savings our wallet.

So..which is more energy-efficient? Which bulb is the best? For me LED bulbs are more energy-efficient compared to CFL bulbs. Although it costs more, I think it’s best choice for energy-efficient light bulbs on the market. How about you? Let me know in the comments.
