People have used the sun’s ray (solar radiation) for thousands of years for warmth and dry meat, fruit, and grains. ADVANTAGES
OF SOLAR POWER
Solar Power Helps to Slow/Stop Global Warming:
Global
warming threatens the survival of human society, as well as the survival of
countless species. Luckily, decades of research have led to efficient solar
panel systems that create electricity without producing carbon dioxide or air
pollutants that may cause global warming. Solar power is now very clearly one
of the most important solutions to the global warming crisis.
Solar Power Saves Society Billions of Money:
Even long
before society’s very existence is threatened by global warming, within the
coming decades, global warming is projected to cost society billions of money
if it was unabated. So, even ignoring the very long-term threat of societal
suicide, fighting global warming with solar power will likely to save society’s
money.
Solar Power Provides Energy Reliability:
The rising
and setting of the in is extremely consistent. All across the world, we know
exactly when it will rise and set every day of the year. While clouds may be a
bit less predictable, we do also have fairly good seasonal and daily
projections for the amount of sunlight that will be received in different
locations. All in all, this makes solar power an extremely reliable source of
energy
DISADVANTAGES
OF SOLAR POWER
Solar Energy is Not 100% Reliable:
When the
sun is not shining, there is no generation of energy. The generation of power
is mostly affected at night and during rainy day. Most people have now invested
in battery backup systems, which store up power to be used when the sun is not
shining. However, investing in backup systems can ramp up the overall cost of installing
a solar panel. It mostly ends up not adding value to the solar energy
technology
Complications When Moving:
Solar energy
panels presents challenges when looking to move. The solar contracting company
will switch the lease agreement to the new user if you decide to move out. These
companies do not want to incur any further cost of taking the solar panels down.
In fact, they have expert personnel that work in conjunction with realtors,
title agents and inspection agents to ensure smooth transition to the new
tenant. In case you choose to take the solar panel with you, plus the lease
contract , the company can expedite things but you will have to take care of
the de-installation and re-installation cost.
Uses A Lot
of Space:
The more
electricity you need to produce, the more solar panels you will need because
you want to collect as much sunlight as possible. Solar panels require a lot of
space and some roofs are not big enough to fit the number of solar panels that
you would like to have. An alternative is to install some of the panels in your
yard but they need to have access to sunlight. Anyways, if you don’t have the
space for all the panels that you wanted, you can just get a fewer and they
will still be satisfying some of your energy needs.
HOW A SOLAR
ENERGY SYSTEM WORKS
- Photo-voltaic (PV) cells convert sunlight to direct current (DC) electricity
- The inverter converts DC into alternating current (AC) electricity
- The electrical panel send power top your lights and appliances
- The utility meter measures the energy you draw and feed back to the grid
WE USE
SOLAR ENERGY FOR:
Cooking:
Utilizing
solar energy to cook is simpler than you think. Imagine trading a conventional
oven for a solar one? It sounds great, isn’t it? Solar cookers use reflective
solar box or a parabolic disc. This technology is more advantageous in
developing nations as it takes away the burden of scavenging forests in search
of firewood for cooking, reduces the burden of cooking and minimizes
respiratory diseases associated with the emission of smoke from firewood. Solar
dryers have also been invented to
preserve vegetables and fruits in gardens
Power Cars:
Solar powered
cars are gradually making inroads into market. This represents the best
possibilities for saving your out-of-pocket fuel costs. A typical example of
solar power car is the Nissan Leaf EV
Disinfect Water:
Some people
live in areas where water sources are unsafe. The sun can play a crucial role
here by filtering the muddy water. Also, filling up pop bottles and placing
them out in the sun about six hours disinfect the water. The sun’s UV rays have
the power to exterminate any organisms or bacteria in the water, hence
minimizing the causes of diarrhea in the area. For those residing near seas,
you’ll realize that desalinization plants are increasingly using solar energy
to purify water

Teknologi yg dicipta dari tenaga matahari dan kini diperluaskan penggunaannya..salah satu project yg sedang diusahakan dept i kerja..
ReplyDeletedulu selalu cakap nak beli kereta solar 😁 apa apapun semua ada kebaikan dan keburukannya
ReplyDeleteThat's right Shafyqah
Deletetenaga solar kini diperluaskan sesuai dengan era kini.Mana tau lepasni stesen minyak takde fungsi dahh.. hahahahhabiss
ReplyDeleteAMAZING ARTICLE :)
ReplyDeleteThanks:)
Deleteyeah solar energy is really important that's why I have one too :D
ReplyDeleteIt's a great start Nadia
DeleteI used to work in solar panel manufacturing industry...what i can say the maintenance for the solar panel quite high n costly
ReplyDeleteThat's right. It might save society's money but not not ours.
DeleteTp system solar utk water heater rumah sgt lah mahal..hurmm
ReplyDeleteIt worth the money anyway or you can start with small things to save our environment.
Deletethanks for infonya mas :)
ReplyDeleteKita dekat rumah gunakan solar untuk terangkan dalam rumah ketika waktu siang... memang terang sangat
ReplyDeleteReally? Glad it works well and better.
DeleteSustainable energy. Paling tidak, bila guna tenaga solar ni salah satu usaha kita untuk menjaga alam sekitar. But, it's very expensive. Hopefully, it will widely use one day
ReplyDeleteThat's right. I hope it will be widely use soon.
DeleteI never thought solar have disadvantages..
ReplyDeleteEverything has its own pros and cons. Glad you learn more about solar.
DeleteIf I have extra money, i want to have a solar system at home.
ReplyDeleteYou may start with something smaller like solar heater which cost less than other solar equipment.
DeleteTinggi juga kos kalau nak pasang sistem solar kan.
ReplyDeleteIt might be high but we can see how it gives good impact to our environment.
Deletepd i, memang solar energy bagus for malaysia sbb dapat matahari for everyday and duration yg lama, cuma kena fikir dari segi costing & set upnya. tak silap untuk dptkan tenaga yg banyak kena allocate banyak panel and banyak kawasan diperlukan. so, pada i its a good initiative tp kena cost saving so that masyarakat akan support! :)
ReplyDeleteYerp,it depends on us. Solar energy take up way too much space and it costs a lot of money but think about how we can save the Earth by using solar energy.
DeleteI love to read and learn new things about renewable energy - I've worked at one of the research institute once too
ReplyDeleteGlad to hear that,Rawlins
