Assalammualaikum wbt.
A hybrid vehicle uses two or more distinct types of power such as internal combustion engine plus electric motor. For example, in diesel-electric trains using diesel engines and electricity from
overhead lines and submarines that use diesels when surfaced and batteries when submerged. Other means to store energy include pressurized fluid in hydraulic hybrids. Power sources for hybrid vehicles include:
Coal, wood or other solid combustibles
Compressed or liquefied natural gas
Petrol (gasoline) or diesel fuel
Human powered, pedaling or rowing
Electromagnetic fields, radio waves
Electric batteries/capacitors
Overhead electricity
Hydraulic accumulator
Flywheel
Solar
Wind
More and more people are turning towards hybrid cars to control their budget as gas prices continue to get higher.
ADVANTAGES OF A HYBRID CAR
Environment Friendly:
Less Dependence On Fossil Fuels:
Higher Resale Value:
DISADVANTAGES OF A HYBRID CAR
Higher Maintenance Costs:
Presence of High Voltage in Batteries:
batteries can prove lethal for you. There is high chance of you getting electrocuted in such cases which can also make the it harder for the rescuers to get the passengers and driver out of car
Produce less Power:
Hybrid cars are twin powered engine. The gasoline engine which is primary source of power is much smaller as compared to what you get in a single engine powered car and electric motor is low power. Even if the power combined, both of them still
produce less power than the gas powered engine. This makes them only suitable for city driving and no for speed and acceleration.
HOW DOES IT WORKS?
1. Gasoline pump is the car’s
primary source of energy
2. Conventional fuel tank
3. Conventional internal combustion engine
4. Engine powers wheels through conventional gears and transmission
5. Electric power outlet connects to car’s batteries through a conventional plug-in power lead
6. Batteries charge up overnight while car is parked. The battery pack is usually stowed out of the way behind the rear seats.
7. Electric motor uses power from batteries to drive either two or all four wheels.
8. Regenerative brakes, slows down the wheels and returns otherwise wasted energy to the batteries
